Rügen, Germany: Winter Getaway

Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve in 2022 we took a quick trip up north to an island I had heard about soon after we moved here and had been wanting to visit. I had a few sick days before Christmas, so I had too much time on my hands and started looking around at places we could go for a few days between the holidays. 🙂 I found a deal on booking.com for the Aedenlife Hotel & Resort Rügen, a dog-friendly, family-friendly resort on the coast complete with indoor pool and delicious meals!

We were only there for a few days but did venture out to Sassntiz to go to Nationalpark Jasmund for a hike along the famous chalk cliffs. It was beautiful!

To be honest, the drive was much longer than we expected (especially since we only stayed a few days), so on the way home we decided to break it up with a longer stop. We ended up stopping in Lübeck for a walk and some lunch. It was such a cute place that we added it to our list as a good spot for a weekend break.
