All of our children love swimming and were pretty early swimmers, so we have enjoyed many of the indoor swimming pools that Germany does so well. For the 2018 holiday season, we booked a surprise trip to Tropical Islands water park just outside of Berlin. It was a hit! The girls were 3, 6, 8 and 10 years old at the time, and they all loved it. Our most recent trip was in May 2023 (so the girls were 7, 11, 12 and 14 years old) and everyone still enjoyed it, maybe even more so. We’ve been a handful of times and tried all the different attractions, including the miniature golf and “hot air” balloon ride. There is an outdoor part with a couple of great slides and the indoor part has pools with different temperatures and slides of varying degrees of scariness so there is something for everyone. And it’s all fun! We’ve stayed at these holiday homes twice and camped a few times, and both are located within walking distance of the dome, though the free shuttle is easier and warmer. Every trip has been relaxing and provided lots of good family bonding time, and we are already planning our next visit!

We don’t take many photos while inside because it is nice to just leave your phone in the locker for most of the day, but here are a few from our past visits to give you an idea of all the fun to be had!
