In early July we drove south to my favorite place, Tahoe! We stopped in Mount Shasta on our way down and experienced a small bit of what much of California experiences throughout the summer and fall these days: thick wildfire smoke. So sad. We stayed at Inn at Mount Shasta which is a great spot for an overnight as it is right off highway 5 and within walking distance to restaurants in town.

Then next morning we drove south to visit family in Sonoma where the girls immediately jumped into their fabulous pool! It was great to catch up.

And then we arrived in Tahoe! We did all the things we love to do up there: tons of swimming in the pool…

…a hike to our favorite “secret” beach…

…a day at San Harbor beach for kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, sand castle building and rock jumping…

…mini-golf…

…a rafting trip down the Truckee River…

…and of course, lots of time hanging around together in the condo.
