updating the blog with past adventures while looking forward

Welcome Back! After almost two years, I’m finally dusting off the blog to let you all know about some of the shorter trips we’ve taken, how we are all feeling about being settled back at home and some plans for the future. Right when we got back from our year-long trip (aka “The Big Trip”), we started an extensive remodel of our home that took twice as long as expected and cost twice as much. While this a familiar story in remodels, it did curb our travelling and kept us either at home or close to home for much of the 2021-2022 school year. And then in the spring of 2022, we welcomed a puppy into our home which further complicated travel plans.

A quick look at the places we visited over the past few years:
- Relaxation and exploration near Hamburg, Germany, staying at the Camping-Park Lüneburger Heide.
- A spur-of-the-moment trip to visit out-of-town friends in Munich, Germany with a stay at Campingplatz München Thalkirchen.
- A winter wonderland stay at Ferienpark Neuastenberg in Winterberg, Germany.
- A whirlwind girls-only trip along the West Coast of the USA staying with friends and family.
- Getting a taste of what England has to offer with trips to London and Cornwall and wanting more!
- A winter island getaway to Rügen, Germany with a stay at the gorgeous Aedenlife Hotel & Resort.
- A solo trip/bucket list trip for me to visit precious friends in New Zealand!
- Three long weekends in The Netherlands: trips to Geithoorn, Voorthuizen and Leeuwarden.
- A couple of visits to our favorite, huge, indoor swimming paradise: Tropical Islands outside of Berlin, Germany.
- And our most recent adventure was a fabulous, four-week journey through Europe with my extended family with stops in: Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain.
It may take a few weeks (months?), but it is my goal to write up each of these trips and share tips and ideas for anyone hoping to add these spots to their future travels. Hope you’ll follow along!
So grateful for this family adventure blog! It’s wonderful. Inspiring.
