As I mentioned, we had heard Portugal was headed toward lockdown so we wanted to do a few things as soon as possible. And the main one was this: a boat trip along the coast to see some of the famous caves and gorgeous coast. So I did some online research and found a local company that was still running tours (with winter and the coronavirus, we weren’t sure we would find one) and were pleased we could book a trip for Wednesday, January 13th. And we were so glad we did! The weather was absolutely perfect, the tour guides were very friendly and knowledgable, and the area is beyond beautiful! Sorry for the numerous photos, but I couldn’t cut it down; every turn brought more beauty. Enjoy!

Afterwards we went over to Praia da Rocha, the main beach in town, and had a delicious lunch at the only restaurant on the promenade that is still open. It was a great mid-week outing and we are so glad we went because lockdown came on Friday.
